When I bring up something about race, anything at all, and white people’s responses are along the “did you have to take it there?” line.
Or when they say, “this isn’t about race. did you have to make it about race?”

I just got back from a bonfire
why do we have bonfires in the summer?
it’s hot as fuck in the summer and making a bonfire creates this little pocket of heat that is just unnecessary but we all stand around it as if we’re NOT sweating like pigs. and the beers in our hands don’t make it any better.
